Associated Investor Services & Financial Consultants announces key leadership changes to reinforce its commitment to serving clients for generations to come. This transition enhances the firm’s ability to deliver comprehensive financial strategies that evolve with the needs of individuals, families, and businesses through a fully integrated, team-based approach.
Shawn Wooden has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, bringing nearly two decades of experience in financial services. After a 9-year career in the NFL (1996-2004), Wooden transitioned to finance in 2005 and joined Associated in 2020 from Principal Financial, becoming a partner in 2021. His leadership will further advance the firm’s collaborative, client-first approach.
Paul Vladem, who established Associated’s wealth management division in 1989, has played a pivotal role in shaping the firm, which now manages over $1.4 billion in assets. Vladem will transition to Chairman, continuing to work closely with clients while ensuring the firm maintains its high standards of service and expertise. He will serve alongside longtime corporate retirement plan leader Steve Fraidstern.
“For more than 50 years, our firm has built lasting relationships with the families and businesses we serve,” said Wooden. “This transition strengthens our ability to provide clients with a collaborative, team-based approach that ensures they receive the best expertise from across our firm while helping them navigate complex financial challenges and achieve their personal, family, and business goals.”
The firm’s second-generation (G2) owners, including Wooden, Evan Vladem, Travis Ruane, and Group Benefits Leader Logan Mondshein, are stepping into expanded leadership roles, furthering the firm’s transition to an ensemble practice. By working as an integrated team, clients benefit from a depth of expertise and a holistic approach to financial planning.
To enhance operations and client service, Associated welcomes Emily Richardson as Director of Operations. With over 17 years in financial services, Richardson brings extensive experience in compliance, business operations, and process improvement. Previously, she played a key role at Lincoln Financial, enhancing efficiencies and supporting financial professionals. She also holds national board positions with Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS), reinforcing her dedication to industry leadership.
“Emily’s expertise will help us streamline operations and elevate the client experience,” said Wooden. “Her leadership ensures we remain proactive in addressing our clients’ evolving needs.”
“This transition builds upon decades of success,” said Vladem. “By strengthening our leadership and further integrating our divisions, we are ensuring clients continue to receive the expertise and personalized service they rely on.”
With this transition, Associated Investor Services & Financial Consultants reaffirms its commitment to delivering financial planning, investment management, and corporate benefits solutions through a team-based, client-focused model designed to help clients achieve long-term success.
